Chocolate Malt with Vanilla Bean Coconut Whipped Cream

Is there anyone out there who doesn’t love a chocolate malt? I can’t even comprehend that possibility. This malt is made from Almond Dream. What the heck is that, you ask? I can tell you it’s a delicious cruelty-free alternative to dairy ice cream but here’s what their website had to say: ALMOND DREAM™ all natural non-dairy frozen desserts are the first line of almond-based non-dairy frozen desserts made with real almonds. They have a rich creamy, smooth taste that is delicious and refreshing – a natural indulgence that is lactose free with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives and no trans fat and highly refined sugars.

Chocolate Malt
1 cup Almond Dream chocolate ice cream
1 T barley malt syrup
4 T Almond milk (original, unsweetened)

Whipped Cream
I followed the instructions on Oh She Glows but instead of vanilla I used vanilla paste, which gives you the vanilla bean speckled look.

For the malt, blend ingredients in blender until smooth. This makes a fairly small serving, if you ask me, so if you’re going all out, consider doubling it. Follow the steps on Oh She Glows for how to make the coconut whipped cream and then put a big dollop of it on your malt. Be sure to make the whipped cream first.

Now off you go to whip it up vegan!
