Turnip Chips

Most people probably don’t see turnips at the store and think “wow, those look good”. But when I found fresh organic turnips at my store from a local farm, I picked some up. I decided to treat it like a potato and make chips. I’m so glad I did! These were really good. Plus, a whole medium sized turnip only has 34 calories! Eat up!

Turnips, washed & sliced
Coconut oil
Sea salt & pepper, to taste

Preheat oven to 400. Place sliced turnips in a bowl and toss with coconut oil. You could use olive oil or canola oil, whatever you have. The amount depends on how many turnips you have. You just want to lighlty coat them so they brown nicely in the oven. Line a baking sheet with parchament paper and lay turnips slices in a single layer. Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper. Bake until they start to brown (to your liking).

Now off you go to whip it up vegan!

  1. Awesome, am totally gonna make these. I’m vegan and on a low-carb diet, so these might be a good replacement for potato chips. I just tried making turnip hash browns for the first time and they came out great 🙂
